OUR HISTORY
MATS – Muswellbrook Amateur Theatrical Society Inc has been a major part of the Muswellbrook and Upper Hunter communities since 1960
The society was formed with the amalgamation of the Muswellbrook Choral Society and Upper Hunter Orchestral Society to form Muswellbrook Musical Society.
The group took their current name in 1975.
OUR Mission
Provide fun and entertainment to the community in a theatrical venue; creating opportunities for children and adults to develop talents in all aspects of theatre arts; produce a broad range of theatrical presentations of the highest possible quality; showcase local talent; and bring an enjoyable theatrical experience to our community.

How we operate
MATS is a non-for-profit organisation run by a committee which is elected by members at our AGM. Members make proposals to the committee on what production we should do. The committee discusses and will vote on whether to proceed with the production. Each production has their own production team which is coordinated by the Producer and Director.
The society is run similar to a production company and therefore does not offer drama or music classes.
